With a rock-steady online following and a much more impressive game library than they had in the last console generation, Microsoft has been doing quite well for itself the last few years. Though the Wii still reigns in sales, and the PS3 is steadily catching up, the Xbox 360 has held its ground like a Spartan II facing an army of suicide grunts. What many people see as a superior selection of exclusive franchises has helped it maintain a steady spot in the hearts of hardcore and casual gamers alike. Though some haven’t remained as consistent as we’d like, it wasn’t hard to come up with this list of our ten favorites:

-huh... what like the 4 they have? Halo, Gears, Fable, Forza? Many xbots maybe, but even they are blind to honestly think that.
I am surprised to see Lost Odyssey on there for two reasons: It was a decent RPG, and its not a franchise. Alan Wake is not one either, but there are some rumors about a #2...
They need to accept that they can't keep coming back to the same franchises; they are going to need new ones soon, and what they have isn't cutting it anymore. Once Gears 3 comes out, what then?
Alan Wake 2 is currently in production, So is Crackdown 3.
I dunno about listing Kinect itself though, wouldn't really call that a franchise.
Though I'm pretty sure the only new sequel seeing the light of day this year is Gears 3 and possibly a Halo HD Remake.
Ah well, Gears 3 for my 360 and Uncharted 3 for my PS3. What a wonderful end of the year.
