MSNBC has come up with a list of the top 5 most shocking moments in gaming history, whether it's the twists in plots or the scary surprises that scare you around that dark corner. The list include Resident Evil and Final Fantasy, but what parts? Go to the source to read all the shocking moments.

Just like a good book or a great movie, video games can draw you in and play with your emotions. One little plot twist can change everything, and a sudden turn in the action can make you jump out of your skin.

    I loved #4 - I haven't played any of the other games except for Metroid, but that plot twist in KotOR was *bleep*ing amazing. Glad it made the list

    Those are some good shocking moments. I know 3 of those were pretty shocking for me when I found out.

    Some good ones there, Aeris death was an obvious one that'd make the list and the KOTOR twist was awesome even if kind of expected.

      Wtf? I was trying to avoid the FFVII one since that was the only game there I hadn't played yet. But for the love of god, why couldn't you warn you were going to post a spoiler? :[

        I beat FF7 knowing Aeris would die and it doesn't make the game any less epic or shocking. Besides, it helped me because I never bothered to level her up knowing her impending fate.

    My No.1 shocking moment was when I heard that Harvest Moon had another game in it's series. There are a few good HM games but some just suck.

    I'm glad something like the Resident Evil dogs are on the list. Although it's a small part of the game, it's so memorable for being one of the most jump-worthy moments in the series.

    Well aeris is still part of history. RED wasn't a shocking moment but i guess there should be more though.

    Areis will always be part of gaming history as long as the name Final Fantasy VII is still around and im sure it will be in 100 years time xD..

    None of them are really that shocking. The arrival of the Resident Evil dogs was a surprising turn of events though...
