Looking back at the lengthy Zelda time line there's many highs and lows that need to be seen to be believed. So in celebration of Zelda's 25th year since release, NES-Bit goes through a list of the best (and worst!) highs and lows.

Right from the start Nintendo saw the need to cash in on the popularity of its franchise. Alarm clocks, cutlery, towels, bed sheets nothing could escape. Most of it wasn’t worth the plastic it was made from but even today its good to look back at the early days of an industry giant, dipping its toes into merchandising.

    I remember back when I was playing the first ever Zelda game created on NES. Little did I know I'd turn out to be one of Zelda's hugest fans and have almost every game invented on every console.

      For me the Zelda love didn't start until I played Zelda 2. It's a real black sheep of the Zelda family but back then it was fun, imaginative and one of the best games for the NES!
