Check out GameZone's top five of the stupidest excuses not to buy a portable system. We list the dumbest excuses we have ever heard from another fellow gamer.

In the eyes of hard core gamers, a portable system is just a waste of money and time. However, in my years of being a fan of portable gaming, I have brought it upon myself to ask other gamers why they have no interest in any portable systems. Their answers always seem to surprise me, as some of them even contradict their own previous statements. The following are the top five stupidest excuses ranging from somewhat reasonable to just idiotic.

That's not a stupid excuse though, it's just a wrong one.

          "I don't feel like it!" =/= "I don't have the money."

i would rather spend what little money i get for games on console games instead of several hundred for the console and then more for each game after. theres nothing wrong with that and thats not an excuse either, just a preference. i dont even have a PS3 so i couldnt take full advantage of all the PSV's abilities anyway.

i just really dont care for this article's writer's elitist attitude. "if you dont want a handheld console (PSV specifically), then youre stupid."

also theres a big issue he didnt address. some people simply prefer gaming on a big screen and not a dinky little screen on a handheld. sure handhelds now have the ability to plug a cable into a TV and play on that instead, but if youre going to do that, why not just play a regular console?

Haha, no need to take me so seriously.

I think it's all fine and dandy if people genuinely don't want to buy one, but some of the excuses they use are... ridiculous to say the last. As this article classicly demonstrates.

yeah i know the graphics excuse is not legit, and i dont use that excuse at all. graphics arent that important anyway. neither is the belief that all games are like Pokemon or otherwise only suited to children.

the Netflix one isnt always a good reason though, because Netflix is really slow at getting their library up for streaming, so there might be something you wanna watch on a road trip that is only available on DVD.

However, most gamers play a portable system inside or in front of the television and not on the go.
That isn't a stupid excuse not to buy a portable, that's just people who buy portables being stupid.

No, it was a comment on something pertaining to the article. Your comment, however, is entirely useless. Like you.

no its a good point. why buy a portable system when you just play it at home? ive known several people to do this. to me it defeats the purpose. if you live in a big city and ride the train all the time, then a portable system is a really good idea.

not really, and Sony and Nintendo love to see people play it inside the home. If a game is exclusive on a handheld system, which most of the good games for them are, why do you have force yourself to go ride the bus or take a car ride somewhere just to play games. Many, if not all portable system owners, play at home. Saying they are stupid for doing so is just ignorant at best, which is why Hideo's comment was useless, like most of his comments are.

i guess maybe, but if you do play at home you might as well plug it into an HDTV rather than using a tiny ass screen.

possibly, but they are still playing the handheld system at home even if they plug it in the TV. This article does not really get into that though.

Nice to see that even after all this time I still affect you so much. I don't know if I'm just that important as a person or if you're just that whiny, petty and pathetic, or the more likely option of both being the case, but either way I'm flattered that I still mean so much to you. Thanks babe, for keeping the love alive

oh Hideo1, you keep surprising me. 1) I made a one sentence reply to you and you respond with a paragraph. Who gets under whose skin again? *facepalm*

You, clearly, since you decided to attack me unprovoked. It doesn't take Sigmund Freud to figure that one out. But hey, if you wish to fall back onto the whole, "OMG you can type more than five words in a minute! Three sentences is sooooo long!" argument, to make yourself feel better about being massively inferior, then by all means go for it little buddy
