Nick Mastrodicasa of GameJudgment talks about the defining 'let downs' in gaming as 2011 draws to a close. Did a favorite new game of yours make the list? You may be surprised.

2011 was another year of amazing gaming experiences and, for me and select other gamers, it passed virtually without issue. Unfortunately, many others seem to have gotten the short end of the pointy gaming stick. In other words, even though 2011 offered some of the greatest games released this gen, a few screw-ups, mishaps, let downs and straight-up bad decisions made some gamers feel like the industry’s only real goal was to get them to grab their proverbial ankles. Without further adieu – and in no particular order – we present the most defining video game letdowns of 2011.

I think storing 77 million people's data entirely without encryption is borderline "absolutely nothing." Considering how many employees and partners have at least some access to the PSN admin, it was silly to leave it all out there in a COMPLETELY readable form.

I'm a huge Sony fan, but I also happen to be part of a programming project regarding millions of cell phone numbers. From that perspective alone it was foolhardy at best, almost borderline negligent, to leave all that info available to so many in a readable form.

Feel free to call me a groupie or an idiot too.

      Game on.

i wouldnt call Skyrim a let down just because some people are having problems with it. an inconvenience sure, maybe annoying, but a let down sounds like the game is a failure which of course it isnt.

Of course Skyrim is on that list. People are always wanting to bring a great achievement down by looking in the dark of things.

Doesn't surprise me to say that least, but there are other games out there that actually deserve to be on that list.
