Runescape in HD!?

Jagex launches a new higher detailed version of Runescape - but that does beg the question - does anyone miss the old 2d version? Well that is for the legions of 14 year old fans to decide.

    I liked the older version better, it looked a lot better to me. In the newer version the animations for the walking and monsters just looks crappy.
    It's nice and all but I just don't like it now.

    I think it's a great improvement on the older graphics. Aside from the odd glitch here and there (remember this is an open Beta) the textures, animations and especially water effects have been greatly improved. The full screen option is also a great addition, and in fact makes the normal screen look squashed if you play on full screen a lot. Considering this is all coded in Java, I am highly impressed.

    And for those who may jump the gun when looking at the title; HD stands for High Detail, not High Definition.

    It is a very good improvement from the old version, but I do not play Runescape anyway... xD
    Used to though.

    People always like games with good graphics. I think of this as a good thing. Maybe it will attract more players.

    This was a great update, the graphics look superb now. Everything has greatly improved and full screen mode looks amazing. The best part is that the updates aren't stopping, there are still some pretty cool updates that are supposed to be released this month.

    Who would ever have thought Runescape could look so good?

    The only problem they might encounter is that some people's computers might have problems running it with all this detail and in fullscreen no less.

      Yeah, a lot of people are already having problems. Some graphic cards aren't even compatible with high detail, such as SiS cards.

    Yeah. My computer had trouble playing runescape on the website but I can only play runescape HD on swiftkit. The graphics are very good and things will only get better from bow on
