But it was entertaining to see how pissed off people are. Bring me more! I wanna see people flipping out. Its hilarious.
That video was hilarious.
ps3 fans are enraged
I could really care less if this happened or not since I'll have a PS3 by then regardless.
I can see why PS3 fanboys are pissed. Hell, I own both consoles and I like them both, and I'm even a bit angry over this.
I orignally got a PS3 first for Final Fantasy, MGS4, RE5, and DMC4. Now four of those games are on/going to be on the 360. I'm glad I have a 360, too or else I'd have shot myself a long time ago
People are REALLY going to go crazy if/when KH3 goes to the 360.
I mean, how would 360 fanboys feel if Gears of War and Halo went over to the PS3.(those are the only big 360 exclusives I can think of, so if there are more, just add those to the list)
They would start freaking out, too.
What the *bleep*'s with the thumbs down? Because I speak the truth? Because I'm actually being reasonable?
Secondly, whether it needs to be a competition or not, it is. It's called the "Console War", have you heard of it? If not, where the *bleep* have you been?
The 360 couldn't handle it.
But the 360 couldn't handle MGS4 because it's not powerful enough.
It'd have to be atleast 6 disks, and even then it would probably be hard on the 360.
If most of the data were compressed, MGS4 would totally work on the 360, but they aren't going to compress it. Kojima's complained about the quality as it is, he's not going to allow a crappier version to be made.
Besides, if you love FF so much then why not let other people play it? As a 360 owner I would be happy to see Gears go to PS3 because it's a fun game. But if that ever happened all you would hear is PS3 fanboys trying to rub it in 360 owners faces, just like FFXIII is being rubbed in theirs. Either side you are on is pathetic. Fanboys are the worst type of scum. Please die.
Yeah MGS4 probably should go multi-platform. Really? That would not only give the game access to more gamers but also do good for the sake of humanity. People who care probably will hang themselves over it and they'll shut up about such an issue for good. There's an unconventional way of such a notion playing out for the better.
Its not bothering me at all though. I hung up my FF days after I basically sold my soul to FFXII when it came out (250 hours in under a 45 days? yikes). I'm just entertained watching everyone hoot and holler about it.
Aside from that, Square basically just lied forever. They said PS3 exclusive over and over and over, and even went so far to say that the White Engine was incompatible with the XBOX 360, only to pull this. Months ago, they spoke about spreading their software around, as to broaden their user base and not leave anyone out. Well, 360 already had three RPGs from Square planned before this surprise announcement, but PS3 had one, a big one, before it went multiplat. That doesn't add up to me. I'm reading that at least for the time being, FFXIII Vs is still "absolutely" PS3 exclusive, but who knows. I wouldn't be surprised if Kingdom Hearts 3 is Wii exclusive.
We could say the same for the Elder Scrolls Series, Saints Row, Bioshock/System Shock, Unreal series, and Splinter Cell. Oh my god XBOX people should go hang themselves, question their developer's loyalty, and start throwing petitions around and have a flamewar outbreak because those went from XBOX/PC exclusives to multiplatform.
That's exactly what I'm talking about. People who look at the gaming world through that lens. That philosophy is like a disease and it exists mostly with Sony. That's what's even more annoying. So long as it exists, let the tears flow. That's still a bad analogy btw seeing as Final Fantasy 13 is still going to be available on the PS3.
And I am still awaiting someone to link me to one of those official Square Enix made trailers people are talking about or any article quoting Square Enix as to saying it is EXCLUSIVE to the PS3. All the trailers I see, all it say is the game will be available on the PlayStation 3. That's not a lie at all.
So, if we are going back to the old Sega vs Nintendo days, where first party software ruled, then I don't really see that as a bad thing, it's just that the stakes (and the money) is much higher this time.
And I don't know about trailers saying EXCLUSIVE, but Square said in multiple interviews that the game is definitely PS3 exclusive and that the engine was incompatible on the 360.
Having exclusives is, to me, the worst type of competitive strategy. Think about it, this late in the game Square Enix couldn't have made massive changes to their game for it to work on the 360. So in essence, neither console has any advantage in their hardware and operating systems. I realize I've just completely upset a million Sony fanboys. I know just like the countless others that have ever come into contact with one knows the Playstation 3 is more beefier, but game developers haven't got to the point they are actually utilizing it yet. The hardware is only as good as the software which makes both consoles basically the same. Which means you're buying one (or both) for the same capabilities. That's like buying a cd player that doesn't play certain cds just because of licensing knowing good and well it has the capacity to do it.
Having a plethora of multi-platform games forces console makers to do two things to help with competition 1) they would have to compete monetarily (lower prices) or 2) they would actually differeniate their products from one another (making the consoles different from one another).
In a euphoric world, there would be absolutely no difference between consoles and they could play any game making the purchase decision based solely on buyer preference like the ergonomics of the controller.
If only...
If both consoles had the same exclusives, neither company (Microsoft or Sony) would be too bothered about the competition.
This "war" for exclusives and such is a good thing on the customer, mainly because if one side begins to lose, the company behind that side would have to try as hard as they can for their product to get back in place in the "war".
So, Sony's loss of a major exclusive = Sony trying their asses off to make things even, which = more features, games and such = more satisfied customers.
So yeah, Sony fans may be tearing their hair out because 360 gets the game as well, but I bet the bosses @ Sony are tearing their hair out trying to level the playing field, and chances are, that's gonna benefit the PS3 community.
That kid scares me to hell and back
*shudders behind sofa*
And why doth ye forget thy FFXII Versus? It's still exclusive, as I've repeated endlessly.
Either way, I doubt I'll be getting it anywhere near to release.
and, in a calmer tone, i can see why people are pissed, but the freak in the video is a *bleeping* loser. and my parents used to say i was addicted to my PSOne back in the nineties! anyways, the only thing that really makes me negative at all is that this may lower/prevent the PSN from growing. but thats about it. its not that big of a deal, to me.
360! *cough*
