Resident Evil: Degeneration announced + trailer

Earlier today at the Comic Con that was hosted in San Diego, fans of the Resident Evil series got to see the first trailer of the Resident Evil: Degeneration movie! Resident Evil: Degeneration, which will be a full CG movie, will hit theaters in Japan this fall and will be coming to Blu-Ray and DVD in North America later this year!

Today at the San Diego Comic Con, fans were treated to the first footage from the Capcom / Sony Pictures Entertainment collaboration, Resident Evil: Degeneration. Making its theatrical debut this fall in Japan and coming to DVD and Blu-ray in North America later in 2008, this spectacular, all-CGI animated feature takes the zombie action to a whole new level with its ground-breaking visual effects and thrilling new storyline

      It definitely looked like him... though that doesn't make much sense considering what happens to him at the end of RE2.

        Retcon, anyone? Hopefully they didn't screw up the storyline just to pump out this movie for a quick buck.

          God I hope not. I don't know what would annoy me more ... the Hollywood RE movies having nohing to do with the RE games, or Capcom's official RE movies retconning major plot-points from the games. >_>

    Is it wrong for me to be looking forward to this movie more than Resident Evil 5?
    Bugger the Plagas crap. THIS is what RE is all about - Hoardes of rotting zombies attacking cities.

    Add Wesker to the movie and I'll be twice as thrilled.

      RE1 & RE2 > RE4 & RE5

      Call me old school, but I prefer the old Resident Evil formula over the new one. RE should be about zombie-infested mansions, cities, and underground Umbrella facilities ... like we see in this video. This trailer gave me a RE2 vibe, which is definitely good.

        I'm sure most of the RE vets would agree with you, twilightprince. RE4 changed things drastically, it felt more like action game than a horror one, didn't feel like the RE I knew and loved. RE2 ftw!

      Oh man, I swear, Wesker BETTER be in that movie. I think I'd buy it just for him! Did they change Leon's voice? It sounds deeper than RE4, or am I hearing things.

      I'm just praying that this movie won't wind up being Spirits Within for Capcom, if you know what I mean...

    Wow nice, maybe it was just me but the graphics were a little blurry, I guess the trailer is just poor quality.

    Anyway this looks awesome

    And its definitely not wrong to look forward to this more Gothic Girl, I certainly am

    Loved the RE2 soundtrack they put in there...hated how they brought back a cocky, cliched "super agent" Leon. By the way, where's Birkin though? You mean the G-Mutant creature at the end? And of course....Omfg Claire...

    Now THIS is the Resident Evil movie I've always wanted to see.

    The live-action ones were all decent action thrillers. But when you have a female Chuck Norris basically killing everything, it takes away from the desperation aspect, you lose the desperation, you lose the horror, you lose the horror, you lose Resident Evil.

    Yeah, that was only the teaser. This trailer is brand spankin' new.

    Anywho, I seriously hope this comes out on Blu-Ray, I'll be picking my copy up as soon as possible on the release!
