If you've been keeping tabs on the latest Resident Evil 5 trailers you would have noticed something rather ... odd. The majority of character and enemy animations are identical to Resident Evil 4. Opening doors, reloading guns, enemy deaths, jumping from ledges, etc are all the same.
Fair enough if Capcom don't want to fix what isn't broken, but there should be at least some improvement in a next-gen game. It's just lazy, otherwise.

It's not eerily similar at all, it's blatantly similar, and I don't want to hear any bullshit about the game being on the same engine.

    You don't say.

How long did it take people to realize this? I mean, I understand that people were already ridiculously excited since the first gameplay trailer so they couldn't spot it out right away. Though now a lot of time has passed, and I think this video should've been done by the second gameplay trailer.

I think people are just getting a bit peeved as this game has been in development since the Xbox 360 was announced over 3 years ago, its getting to a point where i'm wondering where all that work has gone. They are running on what seems to be the same engine, they didn't change anything in the animations department. It is just a complete texture upscale and a new location that could have taken them 8 months at most, they are just wasting time and this game still has 8 months until release. Resident Evil 4 was a good game but the way Resident Evil 5 is looking it was not worth the wait.

It's the only game I've ever lost interest in after I watched a gameplay trailer. I loved Resi 4, but this is just laziness. Far too similar to be anything more than Resi 4 on steroids, which doesn't merit my £50.

Well the bright side is that they have plenty of time to do other things. Sure they recycled animations but it gives them shit tons of time for other things. Plus RE4's animations were very good.

Remember it's all about boss fights anyway.
