Just because the engine CAN have dismemberment, doesn't mean the game was going to have it. Its up to the devs to include it.
And honestly its a demo to give off the taste of the game, im sure the actual game has a shit load more stuff in it then the demo shown.
Again this is probably the first Starwars game I actually played and I thoroughly enjoyed the demo to bits. So your loss BlackLabel, Redneonfish, kik36.
To me there are much better games that paraded around the Star Wars name;
- Star Wars Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II
- Star Wars Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast and Jedi Academy
- Star Wars: Galaxies
- Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic I/II
- Star Wars Battlefront II
All of those titles have all done it much better, sure most did not have dismemberment if i recall only Jedi Outcast/Jedi Academy did, which was great but i do not need dismemberment to enjoy a game, i just think it was an overall bad demo which conveyed the game poorly.
I just feel that dismemberment something that Euphoria makes easy to do, hell even i can do it and i am not a pro with that software, if i can do it then anyone can. Hell they don't even need blood lightsabers are not bloody things it would do nothing to their rating, Jedi Outcast for instance carried a T rating when you could slice off any body part including the head.
I just feel when a you are running on an engine that actively allows for dismemberment then it is lazy not to, especially when lesser technologically advanced games running on the Quake III engine of all things had dismemberment and did it very well, hell they did everything well. I don't see this game getting the 9/10's past Star Wars games received and it would be justified, i just don't think it is that good.
Would I enjoy the dismemberment? Of course I'd like it, but then that would make the game a little over T and probably leaning for M rating status which won't in any way help sales. Games like Sports and SW while could have the blood and dismemberment are aimed at kids of all ages usually so they can get lots of money as well. Trust me, you're picking at straws here.
Now can you explain what other things makes this demo bad other than that one aspect of the game?
Those that liked it, enjoy. For me there's another game that will earn my $60.
Being a die hard fan, I must have this game!
