Zero Originality: GameStop is a rip-off

Deathsythe | September 08, 2008 | Video | PC Playstation 2 Company Misc
Zero Originality- which is oddly similar to Yahtzee (see Zero Punctuation) - takes on GameStop and how they are ruining the industry in many different ways - from low prices paid for trade-ins, to forced reserves.

This is why the last time I dealt with Gamestop was to preorder Chrono Trigger DS and get a new DS. I've heard worse stories from some of my friends that rage quit because of a lot of the stuff that they were doing.

This was good though it pissed me off more that he was trying to imitate the great Yahtzee, because of that and his terrible microphone i could barely understand the guy. He makes some valid points though i just wish he had straight up said it, without the whole boosting Yahtzee's ego by emulating his style down to everything including the animation.

    NO. JUST NO.
    -He doesn't talk fast.
    -Isn't in yellow.
-Doesn't have an accent (to me).

This video is the real rip off.

If he didn't rip off Yahtzee, I doubt half of us would even bother watching this. He makes some valid points though.

I watched it. I am pissed. makes me wish that EB games was never bought out. Thank god that Game Crazy is a shorter bus ride away than the local Gamestop.

Sucks, my gamestop is actually pretty awesome. Have yet to have a bad thing to say. The only thing I don't like is inconsistent policies regarding having ID for M games, as if I look younger then 18(though it was a rare day In didn't have my ID).

    Other then that no problem.

EDIT: I just watched the video, again, and noticed how its all a bunch of nonsensical BS. Honestly you think no other store does this? Hell even if you could buy the game cheaper online, you do realize that tax and shipping will in fact be alot more then what the game could be priced in those game stores?

For instance lets say you buy a $45 new bioshock, then the tax will be like 3 dollars( or depending on location) and the shipping could be about 10 dollars which you'll end up hitting it at the same price at the store. This is why I don't buy games online you pay alot more then you would at stores and its more of a rip off.
