Saints Row 2 Co-op Confirmed! Video Enclosed

It's been rumoured for a while that a co-op mode would be included with Saints Row 2 and THQ have today confirmed the rumours. There will be a co-op mode but whats more is that there will be a "drop in/drop out, untethered, go anywhere, do anything dressed as a ninja (or clown, or pirate, or hot dog ......) co-op gameplay".     Hmmm may not get this game at release afterall... damn it they're releasing too many good games together. I'll be getting Bioshock at the end of Oct, followed by Fallout 3 (if it drops in price). If not this game will be the one I get (depends on R2's release as well).

      I'm definitely getting it, however when is the question. With so many games coming out, and with GTAIV being such a flop (in my eyes) I'm probably going to let people play this game first and give me their opinion on it.

    Looks like everything GTA IV left out after they went down the 'realism' route. Just hope they touch up the graphics slightly before release.

      I agree with you, I really don't think the graphics are looking that great, but at the end of the day, if the gameplay is better than GTAIV's then I think this game will be worth playing.

        Graphics are nothing if the game is absurdly boring, GTA IV proved that one.

          That's why I wont care if the graphics are still sub-par... if the game is great and fun to play, then that's all that matters to me. Even GTAIV's dull but detailed environment didn't help me to like it (it was just far too gray).

          That goes without saying, but it looks so much fun anyway, it might as well look nice too. But yeah gameplay over graphics, I'm just being fickle

    I just pre-ordered the initiation pack yesterday as well.IMO untethered co-op is reason enough to buy the game.

      I wonder if it'll be offline co-op as well... me and my bestfriend would love to be able to play offline, unfortunately the press release they sent me didn't answer that question... though I could email them and ask *wonders*

        I can't see it being offline.I doubt they would make the game split screen and without split screen the characters would have to be tethered like GTA:SA and Mercs 2.

    And thats a problem Gamesta?
    I mean this game already looks on fun par with GTA:SA so I don't see a bad thing with it.

    Gameplay looks alright. I prefer the ninja costume over everything else.

      I never said anything about it being a good or bad thing.Kru wondered if co-op will also be offline and I gave my reasons why I don't think it would.

      I would personally like split screen offline co-op, but I don't think that would happen.I didn't like how SA's co-op was tethered.

      I would rather 2 screens and untehthered than 1 screen and tethered.

        If there's anything that I want, it's an offline Co-op so I can play my bestfriend, but with me planning on getting Warhawk, I wont be too bothered about this not having offline multiplayer since I'll have another game which has multiplayer anyway.

    i hope it offline co op... maybe thats why the graphics aren't great so with 2 players the game would smoothly

    This had already been confirmed in previous interviews, but good to have a trailer. Looks like a lot of fun!
