A three minute TV commercial for the Playstation 3-exclusive PlayTV, the digital television offering from Sony that, among other things, has connectivity with the PSP.

Sony has released a fancy 3-minute commercial for the PS3’s digital television offering, PlayTV, outlining what the whole thing is all about quite nicely, including the few steps necessary to get it set it up, and its many functions, including connectivity with your PSP. As far Sony’s as past UK-targeted PS3 commercials go, this one is definitely up there with the best.

    My friend in Europe was just playing with this the other day. I didn't know it was actual recognizable PS3 software on the friends list.

    There is a demo of PlayTV on the UK store (I tried it out, about 1.3GB). It just shows you how some features worked, and had short demo videos.

    Didn't care for the control interface (but I'm not familiar with the service, so whatever).

    It is cool that you can record while playing a game or whatever, thought that would probably be too much to hope for. Wonder if it worked if you turned your PS3 to standby? It might have been an option, I can't remember?

    So, if this is successful, almost every PS3 owner should get one? I dunno, but it looks dodgy to me in some way.
