Man. I was really excited for this, but it's starting to give off the scent of potential disappointment. Maybe the combat system just wasn't explained very well in those videos and there was really more going on than was visually obvious, but it just doesn't look anywhere near what I had thought it would be. I hate to bring it up, but it also reeks of Final Fantasy XII, and I most certainly did not enjoy that particular installment in the franchise. Square-Enix has just been making me all kinds of disappointed recently. D:

But, who knows. I'll still be picking this up because it's one of the very few RPGs in a sea of shooters coming out this holiday. Just this, Fable II, and Fallout 3. And even that's essentially a shooter. The concept sounded great for this game, especially the whole making it appeal to both Western and Eastern audiences thing, but I'm not so sure at the moment. Well, on a positive note, hopefully these videos just didn't do the game justice, and maybe it'll have a good story (despite being so heavily influenced by FFXII).

I have to disagree, the only thing remotely similar to FF12 on this game was the vastness of the world or exploring mainly when not fighting. While I couldn't hear the person enough, had to raise the volume, it does look extremely interesting and like the Battle system.

So pretty much the battle system is Star Ocean like, but with less freedom. You run into an enemy to initiate the battle in your favor. If the enemy runs into you it is there favor. You can link enemies together to fight more groups at a time for better rewards. You enter the battle with sets of units that you give commands. If you played Legaia you set all your commands and then the battle engages and you watch. Sometimes a "critical trigger" will appear where you have to hit a button fast enough for an action to occur, but mainly the characters fight for themselves. The exploring is like XII, but I didn't understand the simple teleporting part. The towns look massive and similar to XII. The player brought up some menu and just selected where he wanted to go from the town. The towns contain Remnants that are special to the towns and that is about it. The battles do look interesting I think.

      Ah, thanks

I've played Legaia 2: Duel Saga. Liked that game's setup though (The D-pad combo things).

Dunno, might try to look up videos on the PS Store or something....
