Looks good graphically, if nothing else. Somewhat typical modern JRPG design. Not that that is exactly a bad thing.

To be honest, the trailer isn't piquing my interest....

I'd need to see some good gameplay videos before I get interested...

So you want to see something like this...

That's because they showed next to no gameplay at all. I've seen much better gameplay from this game.

I will say, though, the 16-player lobby levels are quite beautiful.

I'm just looking forward to seeing the game in English more than anything. Hopefully it'll mean that the battle system makes a lot more sense.

10 bucks say, Level 5 screws up the translation of Japanese to English?

I'll take that action. If they do a good job, you better pay me my 10USD. And believe me... if you don't I shall use my discretion as a moderator to ban you

Go buy Dark Clouds 1, 2, Dragon Quest VII and Rogue Galaxy if you want to check out Level 5's worth, all of them, I assure you, are great games.

Well to be fair Dark Cloud 1 was their first game, probably hasn't aged as well as I remember, but I recently played Dark Cloud 2 and that game is *bleep*ing awesome, and so is DQ8 and Rogue Galaxy. All PS2 btw, they have grid based tactics game on PSP aswell, heard good things but I never played it.

I honestly didn't like Dark Cloud 1 when I played it (borrowed it from a friend).... though it was mostly because weapons could break and I didn't like that idea... but other than that it wasn't too bad. Unfortunately, never really tried the other games, but I intend to play any game they make on the PS3.

I do have the 60GB PS3... so may pick them up eventually...

That was the only reason? You could easily repair your weapons.

Well w/e, give Rogue Galaxy a shot then, no breaking weapons in that one, a lengthy game aswell, and is about 20$ bucks these days, very much worth it.

PS- In Dark Cloud 2, your weapons can still break, but dont dissapear like they did in part 1, they just become really weak until they're repaired.

You couldn't if they were broken could you? I never really played it much, and besides I really hate borrowing games, and I've got this thing where I will only buy a game when I've completed my previous one, and so I really don't like borrowing games since I don't essentially own them, and I would have to give them back... if I had bought it I would have played it and made the most of it I'm sure of that... but I really am picky when it comes to these things

... also the fact that I was only 15 at that time has something do with it...

But yeah, I've hard a lot of about Rogue Galaxy from moderating the forum during the time it was active, but at that point I had also moved onto PS3 games... I'm just waiting for the next game that tehy develop (which is WKS/WKC).

I know you want to move on to WKC, but you shouldn't play their previous games so yo know what your getting into?

Also, in Dark Cloud 1, if your weapons broke, they were gone forever, but you could still repair them before that and in Dark Cloud 2 when they break, they don't dissapear, they simply become very weak until repaired. Part 1 is dirt cheap, Part 2 is 17.99, and Rogue Galazt is also 17.99. You could buy all three and its cheaper than a new game nowadays.

Well, WKS isn't chronologically linked to any of those mentioned games, so it's not entirely necessary to get them. Besides, given an hour and a half, I'm sure anyone could fall into the rhythm of gameplay for WKS.

          Zero and X Nov 15, 08
I meant so that he knew what style of games they made so that he could get a general idea of what WKS is gonna be like, not that the games are linked.

Krun's welcome to do so, as is anyone; I myself wouldn't buy two other games just to understand a style, regardless of the price of the games. I'm not in any way saying the games are bad, I'm just saying I don't think that it's necessary for myself to get two other games simply to understand a certain style.

As mentioned, the rest of you are free to do so if you like, just saying what I would do.

I think for me knowing it's going to be an RPG is more than fine... I don't see much reason to play the games now, since I've truly moved onto PS3 games... though I may get them next time their is a game drought.

Meh, I'll wait until there is a good PS Store video up for this game...

One with gameplay, not with a lot of chattering in Japanese >_>

Ah, I liked Dark Cloud 2 alright, never bothered to finish it >_< Never tried Rogue Galaxy though, head it was good.

No kidding. I think it's about time we got some english media coverage going. I know for a fact it's got a North American release of Spring '09, but anything narrower than that? Can't say.
