Earlier in the week, NVIDIA sent out a trailer for the PC edition of Mirror's Edge which shows off the PhysX hardware acceleration technology which can be used with the game, and you can see it below, though it's recommended you head to the source and fullscreen it. For more information on the tech and how it will affect the game, check out this article (also over on Neoseeker).
We can presume this is the reason for the gap between the console versions and this one -- good to see DICE putting some real effort into the port.
There is a warning at the start of the video in small print which says, "The following NVIDIA PhysX footage is only available on systems fitted with NVIDIA graphics cards GeForce 9600 GTX+ or better." Note that 8 series or better cards support the technology, so it's not clear if these cards will give a "lesser" version of it or not, or if a card of that power is required to see it at all.
Mirror's Edge is set to arrive on the PC January 2009, according to EA, and January 6 according to GameStop.

Some of the environments are awesome, haven't seen any of them before.
But its amazing, when the guy was walking shooting through those strips of plastic was so realistic, I almost came.
Especially the ending when the soldier fell out of the plastic covering, that was amazing.
The other requirements are relatively low so assuming your PC is relatively new it probably meets them.
