There are trailers that try and get a lot of action on screen really fast and with fast action music. Then there are trailers that are hauntingly beautiful and make you remember how awesome they are. This ladies and gentlemen is one of those trailers.

The video was good, but I had to mute it because the opera was driving me insane.

Are you kidding me, the opera is what MADE the video!

I like most videos in which exciting stuff is happening to slow music, but the high notes were driving into my skull.

The video would have been just another gameplay spot had it not been for the effectual music. I guess there are those who just can't appreciate a good falsetto...

Agreed, Red. I definitely enjoyed it because of the music. The Flower Duet and slow motion also accentuates the awesome physics better than adrenaline-pumping music ever can.

And I think many young people/men dislike opera or classical music because of stereotyping.

I listen to orchestra, symphony and dramatic instrumentals all the time. I however do not enjoy some of the new music we're getting.

Normally I'll listen to classical or opera. I don't love it, but I don't have any problems with it. These notes were just really giving me a headache today.

That was beautiful. Also did anyone else noticed the body physics? I mean, I am not usually one to be a graphics whore, but I know when to appreciate some good graphics, and that looked amazing.

What I noticed was that none of the Helghast moved the same when they were being shot, and when they were finally collapsing to gunfire. Each soldier's death is dynamic.

Yeah, they used rag doll physics that don't suck and make the characters wobble like they're on crack.

That music was perfect for the fluidity of that video. That was an awesome compilation. Fantastic video.

BioShock has recently turned me onto first-person shooters and this game looks to be pretty good. I'll have to look into it...

Wow, great physics there. Dying will be worth it just to see your body crumple to the ground.

    BlackLabel Jan 10, 09
Now i hope these physics are also online as in the beta they were nowhere to be seen, nothing but pre-canned animations that didn't even alter it was just the same falling to the ground animation regardless of where you shot them.

I'm not much of a fan on killing games. This one looks praticlularly violent. I really don't see the point in killing games. You go round getting told to do something by some other person and kill things that stand in your way. It sounds like a good game but honestly, i find no enjoyment in seeing virtual characters being vurtually murdered. Again, i'm going to be honest with you, i don't even see one point in going around shooting random alien type things.

    The trailer wasn't too great either. Looking at it as a trailer, it didn't get thorugh to me, not because of the killing, but because of the classical music in the background. I know the game is called "kill"zone but the music made it sound like the guy was going round saying;

    Hi,
i'm going to kill you now, but first, would you like a martini, or some prawns?

So to me the game looks awful and the trailer didn't even get me exited. Of course this is my own opinion, but that is my own opinion so don't nag at me if you disagree. But, I don't think this game will go down too well.

I would like to know though, what someone who enjoys killing to classical music, thinks. Oh, and please say it without whining at me.

I respect your opinion but killing is part of the course of nature, if Killzone was real and the Helghast were threatening the safety of the earth and it's inhabitance the killing would be justified. Thats pretty much the plot of the game so it's hardly like Grand Theft Auto where the killing has next to no justification.

Right. I see where this is coming from now. So the killing has a reason. Thanks BL

The thing with the classical music and slow mo is all advertising. And well done, it supposed to show off all the animations. The point of the classical music in the background is to convey a feeling. A feeling that wouldn't be achieved with the regular killzone soundtrack (wich is action packed) Its all these things that come to togethere to a create a clever trailer.

Just curious, and without being a smart ass, do you condone "killing" creatures in fantasy games? For example the Gnorcs from Spyro or maybe the gazillion creatures in the FF games. Just curious. Not trying to be an ass.

But I do respect your opinion. Good to see someone around here who has morals and princeiples.

Is it just me, or is the word "opinion" the number one most used word on gaming forums lately...?

          BlackLabel Jan 10, 09
Because recently people have forgotten that people actually have them and the shockingly opinions are unique... So many people these days are throwing around their opinions as fact so the word "opinion" is being thrown around more than normal because of those people.

I mean that some people just use it as an excuse to be able to really hate on something. Someone can go completely bonkers with hate, but they cap it off with "hey, it's my opinion, get over it."

Why's there some little bug crawling on the bottom of the screen at the very end? It's just at the very bottom and shows up randomly near the end.

It's the top of someones head, this trailer seems to be playing on the show floor at CES so there are people walking around under it. The guy must have been slightly too tall.

Oh ok, it just looks like a little bug crawling. I can see where your logic comes into play.

BTW, anyone else notice the electric gun? That's news to me.

      BlackLabel Jan 11, 09
Yeah that looks great, looks like it came straight out of Resistance or something. Though Insomniac did help make this games AI so maybe the gun is meant to give that impression.
