New Final Fantasy XIII trailer -- CGI & battles galore

That new Final Fantasy XIII trailer promised yesterday is here. Nothing held back with this one, either, we get it all, including some sweet battle gameplay footage. Check it out at the official site!

It's impressive stuff - as we've come to expect - and you can watch the movie in 640x360 or 1280x720 resolutions.

Amidst the impressive CGI is some still-impressive in-game footage.

    Im not an rpg fan- but i wish you could run and jump about like they do in the CG cut-scenes.

      That shouldn't only apply to RPGs. Dirge of Cerberus teased us with amazing cutscenes showing off Vincent's talents, but at best we could jump and shoot.

    Whoa, before this trailer I had almost no interest in FFXIII at all, after watching it I can admit that it looks pretty cool. Though I'd wish that everything wasn't all fancy. It should be like FFX in terms of that, enemies HP bars we're displayed as numbers, etc. It's a lot of fun knowing that you have to take down a 320,000 HP fiend/boss. It also gives more of a sense that it's a lot more powerful then you... where as just having the bar it doesn't feel very powerful because theres just a bar that goes down.

    I don't know if that made sense or not...

      Yeah I was kind of trashing it last time around, but I admit this one had me excited.

    "Coming for PS3 2009"

    I was caught off guard there, then I remembered Japan's FFXIII situation is much different.

    I'd like to see the 360 version, to see whether or not building the game ground-up for PS3 makes any difference.

    Loved the look of the gameplay, btw. SE sure has been dishing out a lot of info and such for FFXIII as of late.

    Tell you the truth I didn't really like this one. The gameplay was interesting but the rest just gave me this...I don't know action movie feel. I felt like its just all about the fighting gunfights and all that.

      Agreed. Im just kinda assuming there'll be some kind of real deep plot and stuff within the full game. Trailers are tricky..they could be trying to draw in the casual players who don't care about that stuff.

        Yeah I'm hoping its like that, and looking through it again it does raise some interesting plot points, Serah being able to summon those beasts, Focuses and such.

    Asian Woman looks like some sort of skanky pirate, Orange-haired Guy is essentially Wakka, only bigger. Goggle Twat is Naruto with a different coloured jacket.

    I can live with Skanky Pirate. Wakka Ver. 2 and Naruclone I'd rather do without.

    I wanted the TGS trailer, to be honest, I want to see the blonde woman's face. If it HAD to be the Jump Festa trailer, then I wanted the long one. Sure, we HEAR Lightning getting emotional (she must be missing her kitchen, lulz), but until I see her smacking Snow, I will not be satisfied.

    So really, it was... all right, I guess.
