Yes the title is correct, no it isn't your eyes playing tricks or a very late April's Fool prank. This is for real and James Salt, senior producer of Battlefield Heroes proves it in this video.

Alright it is a year late than what they had suggested for their guideline (Summer 2008) but the wait is close to being over for those without Beta Keys and even better, it means those that bought servers for the game will be able to use them.

The closed beta accounts are still there right? Because I know they wiped them before, but they said the new ones are going to be there even in the real game. Because I don't want my chars to be wiped, AGAIN.

As far as I know, yes they will stay as they are. Mainly so when the game goes open beta that there will be a range of "ranks" for the match making to work properly.

However I will find out more about it, if I can

Ok, because if they don't wipe them its kind of pointless in going open beta isn't it? Seeing as the game is free anyway, they could have just released it and patched it.

Depends on what features they need to test next. Don't forget currently we are only testing a portion of the game and its features, there is still a hell of a lot of features to test...or at least some that require a huge amount of people on at a time (like server stability and match making)

TBH I am not entirely sure how it will work but like I said, I will be able to find out more when I move to Berlin and in the new job within 4 weeks time.

I'm glad it's going into an open beta. I signed-up for a key to the closed one like 3 months ago and never got anything, even though from what I read they just handed out like 100,000 more in the last few weeks.

Yup another 75,000 sometime last week, which would follow up from the 50,000 a month ago
