Well, Nintendo and The Pokémon Company already leaked the news earlier this week, but they didn't steal all of weekly variety show Pokémon Sunday's thunder!

We get our first glimpse of the new games in their unveiling, which can be seen below:

Pokémon Heart Gold and Soul Silver are set to release in Japan this fall. It is expected the US and European versions will follow in early 2010.

Lol, Japan has some weird shows. Looks awesome though; too bad I don't know a word of Japanese. Does your starting Pokémon follow you around, like in Yellow?

Looks interesting, I wish I understood Japanese.
I hope your starter doesn't follow you all the time, that annoyed me so much and it'll take away from Yellow's uniqueness.

I'm sure the starters only follow you for the first part of the game, until you get back from Mr. Pokemon's house.

Since starters follow you, I would *bleep*ing love to see a Typhlosion follow me around in the end-game.

Silver and Gold will forever remain one of the best generational improvements in the Pokemon series. 16 badges ? Epic win.

That'd be cool man, but I bet when they evolve they'll stop following you, like in yellow. Or like that park thing in diamond and pearl.

cool I did like the fact in yellow though, that if you wanted to keep pikachu following you, then you cant evolve him. it makes the whole thing a bit more cooler. Cos if everyone's follows em anyway then thats crap it doesnt mean anything. its like the legendaries man, in the old games you had to go find em, now everyone gets em as part of the storyline. Thats lame.

Wait, I was under the impression that your starter Pikachu in Yellow couldn't be evolved under any circumstances. I remember reading somewhere that if you wanted a Raichu, you had to trade it from another game.

Yeah, your Pikachu in Yellow would just refuse the Thunderstone if you tried to use it on him. Also, he was the only Pikachu in the game, so yeah, the only way to get a Raichu in Yellow was to trade for it.

With the way fans were having nerdgasms over the games, I figured the remakes would get a massive overhaul. Seeing the pics feel like such a disappointment.

I agree. This small part of Newbark town shows that the game will be a remake that will have similar town structure to the original game. I give this game a 7/10. Good for newcomers, but a disappointment for older Pokemon fans.[/sarcasm]

EDIT: I had to add a sarcasm tag, just for you guys. Ugh.

EDIT: I'm bolding it, underlining it, and "italsing" it, Drago Shi.

how can you say it's a dissapointmet when you aint played it yet man? from the looks of it, on the video, its shaping up alright. Good music, good visuals.

The game isn't even out yet, shut up about giving it a grade, you don't even know what else they added and stuff. Fire Red and Leaf Green were remakes and had oldies and newbies scrambling for their wallets and spending countless hours trying to catch freakin' mewtwo again.

And how can this small shot be disapointing? Those buildings are in 3-D, those are new sprites, there's a freakin' chikorita RIGHT THERE behind gold, It's BRILLIANT so far.

Going by the fans, the original games are supposedly be godly. So is it wrong to have godly expectations of a "godly" remake?

The gold and silver of old got a 10/10 from many revered reviewers, he's giving it a 7/10 based on his own speculation on a few photographs

His pose at around 6 minutes into the video is even more coincidental.

Well it's been about 10 years since I played it, but either you try and use the stone and he rejects it and gives you a evil look, OR you can use the stone and he stops following you. one of the two.

Or I think maybe, if you trade it into another game, and then trade back, or evolve it and trade back, then he stops following you. I remember there was a rumour that if you trade onto silver it'd follow you, but it doesnt.

The video was gay, but the game actually looks pretty cool. If it wasn't a remake of the original G/S versions, I wouldn't even consider looking at it.
