E3 2009: First Final Fantasy XIV Trailer + Screens

Sony sent a shock all throughout the gaming world at their E3 Media Briefing earlier today, announcing that Final Fantasy XIV would be exclusive to the PS3. The first trailer and screens for the game are here for your viewing pleasure.

In fact, it drew out some gasps from the crowd and it got them thinking SCEA's Jack Tretton made a mistake with his numbers. But no, Jack knew exactly what he was talking about, as he presented this debut trailer with a wily grin across his face.

    A lot of being are showing hate for this, but I think it actually looks pretty fun.

    I agree. It actually looks pretty stunning and has a lot of potential. I'm sure SquareEnix are going to build on everything they learnt from FFXI.

    I really hope it's a lot like FFXI, even down to the combat system. I love just about everything about FFXI, but a new world and new graphics would be nice. I really hope they don't slack on the gameplay, though.
