Great trailer, but it's still missing about 10 other villains confirmed by Eidos.

Yeah but their mother taught them not to give it all up on the first date. If they aren't cockteases how can they expect us to settle into a marriage or something?

Who's the guy with the detonator at 1:49?

Kickass trailer, but I wish it would've shown some villains we haven't seen yet.

I think that the guy with the detonator is either just some random thug, or, more likely, Mr Zsasz. I won't pretend to be an expert on the character, but judging from the little I know from skimming the wiki article and the picture attached to it, he seems to fit.

EDIT: Actually, I think I may be wrong. On the article, it says that he usually kills with the knife, and in the trailer the guy apparently detonates a bomb, but it also says that he carves a mark on his body for each person he kills, and it looks like there are marks on the guy's body in the trailer.

In other words, I'm just as clueless as I originally was...

I'm going to go out on a limb, because we really don't know much about this game yet, but I'm going to predict this to be one of the great games of this decade. I think it'll be right up with MGS, God of War, COD4, etc.

I'm not even a really big fan of Batman, but I just have a feeling about this game. I hope I'm right

Well, I mostly meant gameplay mechanics. Right now we(or maybe only I) only know what the graphics are like, the cast, and some characters. The game [/i]could[/i] still be terrible if the gameplay or the storyline sucks, which I doubt, but is still very much a possibility.

I know that at least I don't know much about the gameplay, other than hearing that it's good.

Here's some gameplay explanation for you then

Well as far as gameplay goes imagine the classic Batman way intergrated into a game. Fear and stealth. So there's a room with five bad guys with guns. You run out and they'll shoot you dead. So you creep up to the first guy and knock him out with a chokehold. Then you grapple up to an Arkham gargoyle. You swing to another one under which a guards stands and you zip down, knocking him out and hanging him from the gargoyle. You grapple hook away and one of the guards sees the guy hanging. He then starts moving around more cautiously, jumping back and turning randomly so you can't properly sneak up on him. So you head to a wall and plant small explosives on it. You get away and then throw your batarang at the wall to get his attention. He then goes over to the wall to investigate and you trigger the explosives when he's near enough, knocking him out. The noise makes the other two alert and they find each other and partner up. From the gargoyle you glide down to them and KO kick one, then disarm the other and knock him out as well. There are many different ways you can do things, that's just an example of how the stealth knockouts and fear mechanics work.

The enemies have different levels of how they feel, from calm to alert or something like that. The calmer they are the easier they are to sneak up on and the more alert they are the more they look around, be cautious and even partner up. In some cases you can't be seen at all otherwise things get blown up or people die and in other cases you can be, but because they have guns you'll get shot down without enough speed to escape or get them and whatnot. Imagine Metal Gear Batman

Then there's combat. Sometimes you'll be trapped in an arena like manner and need to fight through bad guys, at which point you're in freeflow combat where you can hit anyone, counter/dodge anything and take people out in many a way, just like Batman would be able to. As you go on situations like this show enemies being stronger, more in number and having weapons so even if you can counter anything doesn't mean you will. You can keep a combo going forever if you're skilled enough, one of the devs saying he got one of 150.

That's the important stuff I can remember anyway. There are quite a few gameplay videos around so check 'em out if ya want.

Since you took the time to type all that, I actually read it, and thanks for the info.

For the record, I was sold at, "think Metal Gear Batman."

It sounds like the combat will be quite deep, which is definitely not what I was expecting. I really thought it would just be a "beat-em-up" kind of title. I also like the stealth aspect, which is something I already expected.

That's Zsasz @ 1:49. Yeah, he usually kills with a knife, but at that point in the game, he's just holding some Arkham guard hostage. You can see the cuts in his body/head during the trailer, and that is the biggest giveaway.

As for how good this game will be; Who knows. I think it will be really good though. I may be bias, but every review/preview we have seen thus far has been really positive, in the 9/10 range. It'll definitely be the best Batman game of all-time, and it'll be a kickass action/stealth title as well.

It should be fun for non Batman fans.

I think that's definitely true, which makes this game a huge step up for Batman games seeing as how most previous Batman games didn't seem to be too popular, even with die-hard fans.

Agreed. S'long as the game itself is good as a game then anyone can enjoy it, and B:AA looks like it's shaping up to be a great game and would have been even if it didn't have the Batman niche appeal.
