My reaction is mixed. It's the same as the original Left 4 Dead. There's really nothing new at all except for a few new Special Infected and the addition of Melee weapons - which from this video we now know will equip over your normal firearm until you discard them, much like the propane tanks and gas cans in the original. I must say, though, I like the original characters better. Veteran Green Beret, disgruntled office employee, tattoo'd biker dude, and spunky college chick are much better than... Abercrombie model mechanic, sleezy con-man, some fatass, and some weird chick? No thanks.

More special infected, 5 new campaigns, New weapons, Director can change weather / move obstacles and block players, Updates to previous special infected such as the witch now being able to walk around.

Seriously, how the HELL is it the same as the original?

My point exactly. The update to the Director alone changes the pace of this game when compared to the first.

So there's a few new zombies, a few new weapons, and the director makes a few more changes. Seems more like an update to the original to me. The "new campaigns" don't make it a new game. That's basically just DLC. Besides, we can already play new campaigns thanks to Valve's user-made-content-friendly update (.vpk format). Oh, I'm sorry, the witch can walk, too? Wow.

I'm still going to buy it, I was just commenting that they changed very little.

They changed more than you think. You're somewhat downplaying what's new. These updates simply cannot be part of the first game, with exception to the campaigns. Any of the other changes will change the core of the original, which I honestly don't want them to tamper with.

    Foliage effects have greatly improved.

The setting looks a lot better too. In the forest it looked a lot scarier than the first game.
