Gran Turismo is one of the most realistic racers out there and when you crash a car it gets damaged. Its what always happens in the real world, but so far not in sim racer. Now Gran Turismo 5 boast an impressive car damage system. Sadly though it wont be available through out every race. Probably for good reason.

Why not through every race? That's just stupid now.

Though needless to say I think I jizzed just a little bit watching the car door fly open...

By every race they may mean while playing online... Nothing is more frustrating that playing online and having an idiot remove you from the race because of the damage.

PS.. Car damage seen here is not impressive... Looks like Forza 2's damage system to be honest.

That's what I was thinking myself. But, I suppose, if it'll shut up the Forza fanboys, I guess it's good enough. However, that's an awfully poor standard to set, so I think Poly ought to shine 'er up a bit before release.

I must agree. Sure, It's better than no damage, but it could be better.
Anyway, I'm going to put the damage physics to the test when the game will finally be released. Like, smashing a Ferrari head-on into a wall and such.

It also depends on if they have a toggle feature like Forza 2. For all we know this video could have been taken with damage set to moderate rather than full/high. We'll never know until release...whenever that'd be...

If people REALLY thought car manufacturers would let PD apply the same amount of damage to their cars like in Burnout or GRID they'd best not cry afterwards

This is real cars we're talking about here, not some fictional ones like in Burnout or GRID. And have we even seen Forza 3's damage models yet?

No we haven't but if Forza 3 is anything like it is shaping up to be. The damage models will be even more realistic than they were in the 2nd. Forza damage wasn't that bad but it wasn't super realistic either.
