In his weekly "Rev Rants" series, Anthony Burch discusses the importance of unity between character and gameplay scenario, and how Batman: Arkham Asylum's disappointing final boss battle and ending completely threw that out the window.

Spoilers ahoy!

In a specific sense, this week's rant is about Arkham Asylum. In a larger sense, it's about the importance of unity between character and gameplay scenario. Not in a Prototype, "I'm a hero in cut scenes and Hitler through gameplay" sort of way, but more in a "the ending of Arkham Asylum was bad for these reasons" sort of way.

It wasn't that bad. I've seen worse.

Only thing I'd rant about is that it could have been executed in a different way. But I'm not pissed. 10 hrs of awesome gameplay sure outshines a 10 minute final boss and a 4 minute cutscene.

I absolutely love Anthony Burch's videos. Pretty much everything he says, I agree with; and that goes alongside this one too. Yeah, the boss fights in the game was pretty disappointing as opposed to the game as a whole, the Joker especially since it's so... out of character.

Definitely check out "Hey Ash, Whatcha Playin?" on Destructoid, high-larious.
