In this crazy batch of new Final Fantasy XIII footage, we get a further look at Snow's new lover interest Serah, an airship(?) battle against rival Yaag, and a montage of new battle gameplay.

Famitsu also released a bunch of new screens showing the 'Optima Change' ability in battle, and some better quality shots of Sahz's son Dodge (Dahj).

I don't think Snow actually wanted Serah back. The way he reaches out to her is all... very slack and lacks urgency. He really loved her, he'd be leaning out the bloody... thingamajoo trying to save her. It's a very non-committal attempt, he's not exerting himself. At all.

Call me crazy, but I'm seeing a slight very-young-Julia-Roberts resemblance there. Very slight. Must be the kinda long horsey face :/

Can they at least leave SOME surprises for us when we get the game?

All they're doing is announcing major characters.

      Don't most companies do that?

      We hardly know anything else...

Even so, it kinda dampens the experience when you know every character going into the game. Some of the fun is when they reveal a major character that you didn't expect. I know we don't know any of the plot, but I mean, come on; we don't need to know the whole cast prior to release...

Well with most jRPG's, developers usually always detail the full cast before release.

It's just a thing that they do.

Tbh, it's an RPG - We've still got a good 50+ hours that we have absolutely no idea about. That's where all the surprises will come from.

    Calm down, Red 9.

    Good stuff from the video.
