Some of you may have heard of comments by Mass Effect 2's publicist Heather Rabatich we highlighted previously, who was speaking on the topic of changes in the game from its prequel:

"We are trying to make the game more accessible to people," she says. "Like in your first question, because it's a first person shooter, it is a more attractive game, as the word "RPG" can scare people off from playing a game because they think it's going to be boring. But I think Mass Effect bridges that, because it's exciting and emotionally involving. It's fun, any gamer would love this game. Your Halo gamer would love this game, because again, it's a more sophisticated gaming audience now."

We scoffed at the idea of the game being a Halo-ish first person shooter, but this latest trailer certainly has more than feel than of Mass Effect. Don't say we didn't warn you...

I'm reserving my judgment, but it does seem off from the Mass Effect feel. Oh well, I'm going to be playing a female hero anyway -- hopefully it'll keep her off of my Shepherd.

Aww so its an FPS? I liked the tps style. *bleep* sake EA.

Anywayyyy, This game does look more bad ass then the last time. Lets just hope this doesnt affect the deep story in the last one.

Explosion effects have improved a lot too. This game is looking very nice.

Also 0:46, Is that a commander Shepard I see?

ALSO, BLOOD DRAGON ARMOUR LOOKS KICK ASS.

It's not an FPS, the publicist misspoke. But the trailer is in the standard FPS style. Updated for clarity.

I think I'm in love, haha.

Tbh though, I hate how games now have these "exclusive to preorder/purchase" things.

Yeah, I agree. I'm getting annoyed by the fact that I have to preorder something to get an item or level, and it's especially annoying for me in particular because I have absolutely no reason for preordering in my town.

Agreed. I'll pre-order if I love the game. That is all. Only thing worse is retail-exclusive items.

Her dialogue reminds me heavily of Gears of War. A game in which most of the in-game banter was solely cursing.

Bioware said from the start that this one has a heavier emphasis on the underworld of the galaxy in terms of setting.

I'm kinda alarmed that the game sold so well, yet they still feel the commercial drive to try to appeal to every possible gamer imaginable (more FPS, more casual friendly ,etc) instead of just keeping it more RPG, buy hey, I still think the game will turn out great and I'm looking forward to it.... and my character is already to be transferred over.
