Sorry, I disagree. It looks to be much more of a shooter than the original. The atmosphere present in the original seems to have been totally ruined from the looks of that trailer.

I was referring only to the graphics. I'm skeptical of the game as a whole.

Ah I see. What you said was a little ambiguous!

I agree. I'll keep that in mind for next time.

Looks like the action segments they show are mostly Little Sister protection sequences, you are a Big Daddy after all, it's not like Splicers will be gunning at you without reason.

Hmm after all the websites and creative advertising making this game look deep and involved much like the first, this trailer makes it look the complete opposite and more of a mindless shooter. Not happy.

I made a little squee noise I was initially so excited, and then little but mindless violence, where was the Rapture atmosphere indeed.

Well be fair, quite a bit of Bioshock 1 was action packed and could easily be turned into a similar ad. My fanboy mode's on high but even still I'm sure they're just using this to lure in the general public even though the actual game's going to be just as atmospheric. I mean, this is from the people who brought us Bioshock; have a little faith.

Agreed. It's from a different 2K Studio though (two actually, with additional help from the wonderful Arkane). And Ken Levine -- who came up with the whole thing, and System Shock games -- is barely involved.

That and I'm not sure BioShock needs a sequel...

Just because it doesn't need a sequel (it really doesn't need one at all imo) doesn't mean that one can't be good. Rapture's a diverse and deep place with a lot of stones unturned and a lot of stories that can be told. Just because the story of Andrew Ryan, Jack and Fontaine was completed doesn't mean the other stories aren't going to be great on their own.

Like I say though, I'm just being a massive Bioshock fanboy xD I understand the skepticism, I realy do, I just think the amount of it that a lot of people are giving this game is a little unwarranted is all.

Yeah I know, it can. But I think if it's contrived it's doomed to be inferior to the original, no matter how good it is.

I haven't seen that much, but what I have seems warranted. People care about it; it's a special game.

You must have avoided the forum then, especially around the announcement. People were having hernias over it

I feel like maybe my pre-order for this game should go towards a different game and I can pick up this game at a later date. I'm sure this game is going to be a lot of fun but I don't know if I'm willing to pay full price for this.

Too true, but I hope the next trailer is full of Rapture, not just carnage. I'm guessing they've just filled this one with action to lure in FPS fanboys who're unfamiliar with the first game.
