If You don't want to spoil the intro for you, click out now.

The first game had its 'memorable' moments. One was the quite amazing intro for the game. Modern Warfare 2 hopes to go beyond that, but in a different direction. You get to play the role of Russian terrorist as you make your way through an airport gunning down innocent civilians. Is this going to far? Or is it cool to play as the evil guys for a little bit?

I heard the American version substituted the airport for highschool.

Well, rated "M" for mature, it isn't nearly the most horrible thing that has been done in video games (or other forms of media like movies or tv shows).

Still... this is going to be a startling game for parents who buy their kids games without thinking twice about it, not Infinity Ward's fault though :\

Man that is one sadistic opening, I mean the sheer number of civilians which die in those five minutes, not to mention all the wounded you put down.

So yeah, goodbye Australia and Germany.

        *Awkward Silence*

You have got to be damn well kidding me. Oh no, we can't chop up zombies, that would be far too violent, but shooting up an airport is just A-Okay kids!

The hypocrisy of the system astounds me

You're not the only one.The CB needs to look up the word consistent. At least in L4D2 the people you are killing have a virus that turns them into blood thirsty killers.

The CB is an absolute JOKE.

Never did like games where you play the bad guy...

But that's okay. I really had no interest in getting this game anyway.

You don't play as the bad guy. I read that in that scene you are playing as an good guy who infiltrated the terrorist's. You don't have to kill any civilian if you don't want to. That decision is up to the player.

        Ah . . .

Yeah but really you don't know when you play that scene, do you? You just open up and see a bunch of people you're with shooting these people you assume are the "bad guys" . . .

Only to learn afterward and feel so horrible for killing all those people when you didn't need to! At least you'd better feel horrible! SHAME!!

I guess from the protagonist's perspective, the innocent civillians are the 'bad guys'

I'm not saying I'll like being able to gun down innocent civilians but it's going to just be a game to me. Like PacoDG said, it's not as bad as some of the things portrayed in some of the other forms of entertainment. I'm sure it'll be the best way to tell their story though and that'll be fine with me if it's not just mindless violence to attract a crowd.

Nice so instead of improving the graphics and gameplay. Infinity Ward has instead decided to play the controversy card from start to finish in this game. You start murdering hundreds of people and you end with Washington getting absolutely raped, seems they are trying to get this game remembered for all the wrong reasons. Though maybe i'm sick but man that level looks *bleep*ing fun.

And yet, it seems the majority of the "popular" games are going for controversy nowadays.

    ...Its a *bleep*ING GAME.

But maybe I'm just desensitized by GTA and other killer games.

Yes. Yes you are desensitized . . . shame on you and your mindless killing-machine mentality!
