Popular Australian news/breakfast show "Sunrise" have shown their support for an R18+ games rating in the past. And yesterday they brought up the topic again, discussing whether or not R18+ games should be sold in Australia...
It sure is nice to see a media show discussing adult video games fairly for once, without the presenters showing any bias, nastiness or skewing of the facts. (I'm looking at you, Fox).

But the video is new.
Now I play a lot of violent video games and I am not desensitised to violence outside of video games in the slightest. In fact I don't watch SAW movies (just one example) because I don't think I would handle the gore in them too well and honetly I don't WANT to see that kind of gore. That's also why I don't watch a lot of other really gory movies.
Watching and taking part in gruesomly killing someone in a video game is a lot different that watching extreme gore.I know that games aren't real and even though the graphics these days are FAR more realistic, it's doesn't look realistic because of the fact it's just polygons and textures. Now a movie on the other hand, when someone in a film is being gruesomly killed it LOOKS like a real person is being killed and not a person with prosthetics or whatever.
Another example is a dream I had where someone killed another person in the same manner as one of the kills in Manhunt and while in Manhunt it didn't bother me but my dream made me wake up and I was deeply disturbed by it and just recalling the dream is prety much having the same effect as when I had it.That's how much it disturbed me.
