As much as gaming graphics have improved over the past decade, the gaming world still has yet to fully conquer the creepy, stiff hair and robotic eyes that plague our on-screen counterparts. Nvidia once again takes up the tech challenge and has demoed their most recent GF100, teasing us gamers with the impressive future of video game graphics. You'll never look at hair the same way again.

This is great news! Hair is considered quite a limitation when it comes to graphics. Take a look at the Resonance of Fate trailer - the FMV looks fantastic except for everyone's hair, which looks clumpy and lifeless. I think I remember Yahtzee joking once that JRPG characters look like they just dipped their head in a bucket of paint. And we've all heard the joke about how the hero is always a bald, grizzled space marine because they just can't make hair look good. This is a good step.

wow that would be so amazing to see in games. Hair has always looked the worst in games, its always so stiff or chunky.

Sadly we won't see anything like this on consoles until the next generation. I can only imagine the processing power needed to take care of that real-time in a game.

cool now all the rich kids and computer dudes can have cool hair graphics when they buy their next 9000$ graphics card. people on normal budgets, and console gamers especially won't be seeing shit like this for quite some time.
