Neither Mass Effect games can claim to offer the universal remedy for a boring mining experience. Some like the system from the first game with the Mako, others prefer the second method of launching satellites.

Either way, someone realized the satellite method could make for an interesting video. And here you have it, a time-lapse vid of a very bored/creative gamer taking full advantage of mouse-precision to completely exploit Uranus.

I had no problem mining. In fact, I did enjoy it a fair amount. I LOVED the sound effects. They sounded great, and when I would launch a probe that sound effect would boom over my sound system. Good sound design makes all the difference.

Glad I'm not the only person who liked the system in the second game.

After my millionth Mako mission, I'm looking forward to it.

The mako kicks so much ass! I don't get it, did people actually have trouble with the Mako or something? I don't remember ever dying.

I think he means that they are boring, which is the main reason why I don't like it. The buildings you go into are cookie cutter, the plants themselves are bland.

Dying not being the issue, heh.

So wait... people had a problem with the missions not the vehicle itself? I was always under the impression they didn't like the way it controlled? The mako had nothing to do with those missions sucking. I loved how it would elevate me upward depending on my own relative position, not the position of the world. So if I was on the side of a mountain I would blast forward and up. So cool.

I enjoyed the missions until around the 25th one. Doing the same shit in the same three buildings 30+ times gets really old.

I think the important thing to keep in mind is that there is no need to do that. Like, you could have stopped at 20, or just when ever you get bored of doing it. Mass Effect is a pretty easy game too, its not like you need the extra goodies from doing every single planet in the game. You can get by with doing like 1/8 planets.

The Mako sections never bothered me -- because I just did them in small doses.

Same here, they were fun when you needed a break from the more serious missions.

Balance is key in everything for enjoyability. You can overdo anything.
