At a recent Final Fantasy XIII launch event in London Oxford Circus, in which the producer Yoshinori Kitase and art director Isamu Kamikokuryo were present, a competition was held where one lucky gamer had the chance to win the Xbox 360 Final Fantasy XIII bundle. How did fans react to this prize? They booed.

This past Tuesday I was present at the Final Fantasy XIII launch party in London Oxford Circus, in which the producer Yoshinori Kitase and art director Isamu Kamikokuryo were present. Before the signings were held from the producer and art director, they held a competition on stage. When the presenter Alex Zane announced that the prize was an Xbox 360 Final Fantasy bundle, the whole crowd erupted with boo’s. Keep in mind that the crowd was full of nothing but hardcore Final Fantasy fans.

Our full coverage of this Final Fantasy XIII launch party will be up later. We have exclusive interviews and pictures from the party, so make sure you check it out.

Nice to see gamers acting mature. Now I totally understand why the general public see us in such a positive light.

Yeah, and who cares if it's FREE, I mean... BOOOOO FREE SHIT BOOOO!!!

I'm sure they made a positive impression on Kitase and Kamikokuryo.

I'd sell it. Like a smart person.

Anyway, maybe these kids should think about Nintendo to Sony transition and STFU.

Their behavior was just plain immature either way, and in front of the creative minds behind the game? Yeah, true fans they are.

What does this have anything to do with the "general public?" The "general public" makes up 100% of all the booing unruly fans at any sporting event.

You yourself singling out them as gamers is weird, they're just people, and they're obnoxious and immature no matter what they do or have an interest in.

    Actually, it is sad.

Now this has nothing to do with consoles etc. but for some reason I love it when someone announces something they think everyone will love and it ends up being the other way around.

So forget the fact that this is about a console and I must say I liked this vid.

I felt sorry for the guy announcing it. He hyped it up as he was announcing it, expecting a thunderous applause or something, and just got a lot of booing.

That's what I love about it.

Yeah I can be a real prick sometimes.

Yeah, but this is Alex Zane - in the UK we're used to seeing him fool innocent people into thinking they're in a quiz show and then making them look foolish in front of hundreds of thousands.

See, it's not the games that make me want to stop giving a shit about Final Fantasy, it's the fact that the "fanbase" has just gotten to a point where it's intolerable. I don't want to be a part of it any more, let me go.

Am i the only one that noticed thats Alex Zane? Fricken awesome.

If I was him, I would have just said, "That the way it's gonna be then? Awesome, I'll keep the 360 and you can all leave now."

Bunch of children, fanboys ruin good things =|

I don't even think they're fanboys, just ignorant retards with empty lives brought in by the lies of fanboys because they don't know any better.

I noticed. And it was awesome.

Would have been better if Neg came in and rodeo'd the fanboys.

Wow look at all of the 360 lovers on the comments. Glad to see you came out of Microsoft world for a minute or two.

LMFAO, are you *bleep*ing kidding. If a bunch of 360 dick tards started booing a PS3 at a convention or something then it would still be as retarded and sad as it is now. Its to do how sad they are.

Get off your high horse. You probably want to encourage this behaviour "yeh hehehe lets boo the 360 i wish every1 at MS go die thattle teach them to take final fantasy ehahhewhe"

Sorry man and I ain't no fanboy I got every console from the atari to the 360 and play them all. Take a joke you bunch of losers.

A pre-requisite of something being a joke is that, on some level, there needs to be comic effect to it. As in it has to be mildly funny to at least someone. No-one, and no you don't count, thought that was at all funny. You may not be a fanboy, I honestly don't care, but you're clearly a god damn moron.

Your comment didn't even make sense, moving on now...

FREE stuff? *bleep* I don't care what game comes with it I'd take it. Sell if I don't like it or etc.

    Wow, this is clever.

I'm willing to believe that all fanboys want is the same game released on the same format without any advancement or new ideas installed into it. Nintendo fanboys have done it, Halo fanboys have sort of done it and now Final Fantasy.

*Crosses FF Fanboys off the list of 'Fanboys Who I Can Stand'*

From what I know a hardcore final fantasy fan wouldn't want to play the game on the 360.

      FinalFantasyFanaticc Mar 14, 10
Tbh, Myself as a big fan of FF thought the fact that it came to the 360 was fantastic, because it meant I was able to play it, not having a PS3 and only having a 360.

A hardcore FF fan would be happy that it's coming out on both consoles, that the company is earning alot more money that it would with it being single platform and that now they can use that money in future production of games, Also would be happy that alot more people can experience one of the best JRPGS around. And not be a whiney bastard about it not being exclusive to the PS3.

... because a hardcore FF fan would put the console before the game even though the game is the thing s/he's supposedly a fan of?

What backwards ass crack are you smoking?
