New information on the Windows Phone 7 series from the MIX10 conference. Xbox Live games demoed along with Netflix Instant streaming and some other stuff. I haven't made the jump into the smart phone arena but this just might entice me enough to do so.

Microsoft is making a splash at the MIX conference today by showing off some of what the Windows Phone 7 platform is capable of including Xbox Live games. The game demoed is called Harvest and features 3D destructible environments along with Xbox Live achievements.

I'm getting more and more excited about this. I'm glad I held off from buying an Android phone.

I'm still curious as to whether this is an actual phone or just an OS. I see that they keep demoing with the same phone, but I hope it's just an OS so there's a higher possibility of it being on a carrier. If Sprint ends up not carrying a phone with it, I'll be pretty pissed.

My understanding is that this is just the OS and that WinMo phones will be across multiple carriers and manufacturers.

I hope so because I'm happy with T-Mobile and Windows Phone 7 is the first I've seen that has me interested in upgrading to a "smart phone".
