Finding the lack of sexual content, GameZone's Nixie Pixel came away disappointed with Rockstar Games' Red Dead Redemption -- a title she expected to serve her need to explore the naughty sides of life.

Nixie Pixel finds the wild-west a too puritanical for her tastes.

I honestly haven't missed sex in Red Dead Redemption, nor did I ever use it much in GTA.

I have to agree. It's not so much as they neglected to do it. It's just that they did so much else. Like, of all the things you can do in this game, you'd think that'd be one of them.

But John is a married man and already has a son, why would he cheat on her?

And if not him, then someone else having sex, but why would John be a peeping Tom and watch two random people having sex?

It was the wild west kid, most nights spent in a city or town consisted of liquor, hookers and more liquor; even for the married.

Sure, thats allowed. But John is a devoted father and husband, which explains his lack of sexual activity. He's a man on a mission, not a sexed up hoodlum.

You still don't understand. It wasn't just an allowed thing, it was something everyone did. No-one thought anything of it other than men wants to *bleep*, he pays a woman and does. Women didn't mind it. Devoted fathers and husbands did it as much as other people because it wasn't thought of by anyone as a bad thing. You're being naive.

Hideo1: --- How do you know women didn't mind it? Are you a self proclaimed expert of the west? Did you grow up in the early 1900's? If anything I would have to guess that American morals are more loose today than they where in the 1920's. Divorce and adultery is so common in today's society that most people just accept it.

'kay, all I have is history books and the words of people from back then, but if that's not good enough then let me rephrase it to say women of that time never claimed to have a problem with it thus no-one could conceive it to be a problem.

          Happy now?

No one would have even expected these things to be in the game if it weren't developed by Rockstar

The 'lack of sex' doesn't detract from the game at all.

The 'lack of being able to swim' however, does

You'd be surprised how many people couldn't swim as late as 30 years ago.

I thought it was common sense, especially since I'm not even from America.
Does that say anything about knowledge of history?

Not really, who the *bleep* studies swimming ability? Much less historically, still even now I'm pretty sure it's not all that uncommon to not be able to swim.

Drowning the second water goes over your head is another matter though.

I think most people can tread for at least a few minutes. Some people just freak out when they are in water and loose stamina faster.
