With so many games and developers finally getting sick of the weak 3rd party software sales on Nintendo platforms we are about to see Sony PSP2 (NGP) being a powerhouse of dev support. Check out this vidicle to find out every detail about the situation.

It’s amazing how the pioneers of hand held gaming has become a little worried about competition, thanks to Sony being the only company to ever stand tall against Nintendo and survive with the psp (Playstation Portable). Gamers never thought that we will see a round 2 but it’s here and it’s real, Sony is after Apple and Nintendo with the PSP 2, the most vicious hand held in gaming history.

Nintendo is going to sell and be successful with the 3DS but in terms of true next generation forward movement, Sony is once again leading the pack in consoles and hand held gaming, no matter how confident Reggie is with the 3DS product, you can’t help but recognize that Sony is not only here to prove that they are relevant but to prove that they can beat a Nintendo hand held.

The PSP 2 is the perfect example on how to intimidate, revolutionize, and defeat the competition and it appears that Sony did exactly that.

Nintendo has way too many fan-favorite IPs that they can whore-out for them to be afraid. That's what's going to kill Sony, they've surely spent a lot of money already on R&D, now they're likely to launch a handheld that they'll lose money on every time it sells, because if they sold the thing for what it cost to make it, hardly anyone would buy it due to it being "599 US DOLLARS". Then finally once the thing is out there and floating about, Sony is going to have to rely on third-party developers like Square Enix and Capcom just to sell games, which they may not develop because there's not enough of a base to sell it to on the platform. Meanwhile millions of people will have bought Nintendo's first-party OoT and SF64 remakes, as well as Mario Kart and whatever else can be assured to come out, and they will be able to do it purely because of the large fanbase that already exists.

Tl;dr: Sony doesn't have any games.

Eh, Sony has plenty of games, they just don't advertise them all that well or at least don't rely on rehashing old titles for sales which we all know is the most effective way to sell games on handhelds.

That's mostly my point man. The "Tl;dr" part was just a joke. Nintendo has nothing to be afraid of as long as they have their IPs, precisely for the reason you said, they can rehash whatever they want. Sony may have a couple IPs they'll try to use on a handheld platform (Killzone, LBP), others they simply won't at their own expense. Other than that, they rely on third-party developers which may or may not ally themselves with Sony, which Nintendo can easily survive without. Nintendo has no fear of the competition as long as their competition tries to do business this way.
