Mass Effect Ban or not, Singapore's Media Authority get "creative".

Singapore's MDA (Media Development Authority) recently banned Mass Effect for the 'inappropriate' alien lesbian sex scene, but soon after they recanted an unbanned it again. So what's up with Singapore's MDA? A guess is that they are trying to seem "cool" to the younger generations ... Why else would they make rap videos about how "creative" they are?

... Now why can't all country's authorities be more like this?



Just because Singapore is strict doesn't mean its dull and conservative. Take Mass Effect, for example. The country's Media Development Authority banned Mass Effect for alien lesbian sex, but then the MDA retracted its ban. See, they're open minded! But what kind of governing body is the MDA? Is it a bunch of stiff, dull Singaporeans in business suits. Yes. Yes, it is. However! They are stiff, dull folks who enjoy making rap videos about how creative they are. Click on the above 4 minute clip and listen closely. That sound you hear is our collective jaw hitting the floor.

    I pretty much hate rap already, this video reinforces that for me.

    I'll give people a little warning, there could be a possible spoiler for some below, honestly I don't think it's a spoiler really, but I know some fanatics may disagree with me.

    Anyway, it sounds like Singapore's MDA is pretty bloody stupid. I've played through Mass Effect a couple times in just the 6 days since I bought it. Apart from the fact that technically Liara is neither a male or female since the Asari are mono-sexual, you don't see anything, you don't have to as it's only going to happen if you play a female and choose to have Liara as your lover and then only if you accept it before you go off to finish the game, and finally, technially there's two since the Consort actually melds minds with a female Shepard if you do her lil job. Still, everywhere Mass Effect is, it's pretty much rated M15+ so I don't see what the big deal is, it has plenty of warnings too and the whole scene is only anywhere between 30 seconds to a minute long. Singapore's MDA just sounds like a bunch of stiffs.

    Lol. Erm, yeah I'm a little confused. Also, considering I've not heard about or looked into Mass Effect at all it's news to me. Weird.
