IGN has posted some new videos for the upcoming Wii Fit game. I have to say, I'm glad that this is all virtual. Those soccer balls look like they would hurt if you're not used to them ramming you in the head when you're not trying to hit them back.

Also Guticb that device could have more uses than we know. It might work well if there is a sequel to Sonic and the Secret Rings. I think it is a good expansion of the Wii. I don't think it will replace the control stick but I could picture some genres that would probably never feel the same with a regular controller again.
But you're absolutely right. The Wii balance board could open all sorts of doors for gaming. And I'd never thought of it being used in a sequel to Secret Rings- that could certainly be awesome. I would like to know what other plans Nintendo has for the board. Can't you imagine the possibilities? Heh...
Sure, he sounded harsh but was he lying? Obviously not, if Nintendo has a reputation, you can bet your ass casual gaming (or cheap price) is its calling card.
oh, but gutic, I don't think anybody believes you were about to get a 360.
Firstly, the guticb thing I can completely agree on.
Secondly, the Wii does have more 'general' games.
But the assumptions are that:
One, hardcore gamers can't have fun on the Wii.
The reason I can disagree are that, in times before Prov Ev, Fifa, and many other sport games catered to another casual crowd, and although personally I didn't take to them that much I know a fair few 'hardcore' gamers did. Serious gamers can still have fun with the less serious games. Some older games we had tons of funs with were fairly simple too.
Two, it is only for the 'new crowd'.
As far as I am convinced it is not like the Wii can only have a limited number of games on it. I predict that it is also selling to 'normal' gamers as well as the 'new crowd'. It is true a lot of them will treat it as a 'secondary console', but the sales figures are what makes games companies choose who to back up.
I am not saying the Wii is the best console for everyone but I would advise you to keep an open mind towards it. It might get a game you like after all.
Regardless, I have no reason at all to keep an open mind, in regards to looking into a Wii purchase. Even in the slim chance that they did get a game I'm interested in, it would still be that one game and I am not buying a system for one game. There is literally nothing for me on the Wii. Now that Mario is out, I'll probably buy one for my girlfriend, but thats as close as I'll come to owning one.
