Final Blade | February 09, 2008 | Video | Playstation Portable
Well two new videos has come out for Crisis Core, the English version. The subtitles aren't that great but many die-hard FF7 fans will remember the scene in the second video. Oh those were the good ol' days.

        That's bullshit.

Nice to know my opinion is worth less than a 5th of yours.

I like Zack's voice the most. It fits him perfectly in my opinion. Sephiroths is... iffy though.

Zack and Lazard's voices were pretty good. I thought Zack's voice was one of the better ones in Advent Children, so I'm glad it's just as good in CC.

Sephiroth's is just ... ugh. Where's Sephiroth's deep almost-foreboding (in Tifa's words) voice? His voice actor sounds almost bored.
What happened to George Newborn? Is that even his voice anymore or have they switched Sephiroth's voice actors? He did an okay job in AC and KHII, so it's a shame that he seems to have gotten worse in CC.
Congrats on screwing up a classic scene for me Squeenix. >_>

And people wonder why there is such a high demand for Japanese language options for FF games. Because they can actually pull off the character's voices reasonably well.

I'd much rather good good English voices than Japanese language options.

I agree. I'd rather listen to good English voices over good Japanese voices. But for the FFVII Compilation, "good English voices" just hasn't been the case. Most have been average (or generic) at best. And in cases like this, I'd much rather have the choice to choose a Japanese language option (with English subs), so I can get an idea on what the character's sound like with some actual effort put into their voices.

I don't see how you can say the English voices are bad. I think they fit them well. Sure everyone has there ideal actors or voices for them, but you can't expect for them to have the actor you want, cause then someone else will be like, i don't like the voice its not how i envisioned it. You can't please everyone. Besides you can't tell how his acting skills are in that small part. There is plenty of the game we haven't seen in English. I bet your going to love his voice when you play it, trust me

**Voice of Sephiroth George Newbern, yes its him GG.
          i found it here

Just because its how you imagine him, doesn't mean its how they imagine his voice. They could have at least used the actor playing Sephy in AC. Its not all that bad i kinda like his voice to be honest.

But we have yet to see the rest of his lines, i say it will fit well at the end. Um never knew there was a high demand for Japanese language.

Yeah, I would like an option for Japanese voices with subs.

      Expect SE to mess with a lot of scenes... hopefully it isn't too bad. ;__;

My god, Sephiroth sounds corny. He doesn't sound menacing or powerful or psychotic. He doesn't even sound intimidating! I hate when they do this with American releases. Take the time to get it right or just leave the voices Japanese.

Sephy looks great, but I cannot stand the way he talks.

There better be an option to leave the speech in Japanese or I am going to be TO'd

Jesus its just a 30 or so second clip of a game, and people are already brandishing the voice of him at that time horrible its not even out yet. Perhaps he was meant to talk like that during that particular scene. Jeez its true what they say, you can never please everyone. I like his voice. It fit well considering its the same guy from AC.

I didn't like the AC voice either. Am I passing judgement too quickly? I think not. I don't like what I ahve heard so far, just accept others don't either and rather hear the japanese voices.

But like i said no one has played the full version yet, for all we know the lines will get better. Sure his lines was odd i will admit but still i find it fits him well. The japanese voices all sound the same to me. I can't stand them. Sure i'll watch english subs of anime if im eager to watch the next episode of something they are all different. Although the same actors do play in other animes i notice. The english ones are more enjoyable for me. But until anyone actually plays the full English games passing judgements at the present time isn't a good move. Thats like me making a judgement on gackt being in a voice of some anime and i heard one line and say he sucks. How the hell can i say that? Maybe the line wasn't great but translations are tough there is several translations from japanese to english, or vice versa. Thats my problem your jumping the gun here, i can't wait for you guys to start saying stuff like this about FF13 and versus.

I really hope they change his voice. I didn't like his AC voice, I didn't like what I heard in the video. I'm not pulling this opinion out of nowhere FB.

The problem with your example of Gackt is that we have heard Sephiroths voice before in a movie, and people didn't like it. Therefore, it is a more valid opinion than hearing Gackt say one line in an anime, saying he sucked.

Jumping the gun? You shouldn't talk since you do it yourself. People go by what they have seen so far. Can't call them judgemental for that.

It has nothing to do with the script, its his voice we don't like. Whats so hard to understand about that? It doesn't have a single thing to do with FFXIII.

For the Nibelheim scene there would be no issue with Japanese-to-English translations. It's identical to the scene in FFVII, which was translated into English ten years ago.

I dunno why you's are complaining about Sephiroth's voice, that's how the English voice has always sounded. Ever since Kingdom hearts i think.

And? Just because it has always sounded like that means we should like it? I have never liked Sephiroths english voice, no matter what game or movie it is in.

Actually, Lance Bass (yes, the guy from N'Sync) was Sephiroth's voice actor in KHI.

And the difference between his KHII/AC voice and his CC voice is quite obvious (hence the people complaining in this article).
