The North American trailer for brawl has come out with some interesting stuff, for instance Sonic vs Mario, Dedede vs Bowser.
As we thought this game is looking to be very fun including with its online capabilities.

Doesn't look too different from the Japanese one, with exception to some scenes. Can't wait for this game. ^^

It's a huge disappointment unless Melee gave you a boner. Honestly, it's too similar to Melee for my liking, which wasn't similar enough to the original.

Oh im sorry i didn't realize you already played the game Moonrise, please tell me everything about it in a long captivating detail....

Hmm boner, not everyone has one, but more accurately would be orgasm Moonrise. Still it has to be good, i mean melee was fun, and the way they hyping this game out, surely it can't disappoint, right?

What's wrong with Melee? I thought it was a huge improvement over the original. Better graphics, tighter controls, more characters, more stages. What's there not to like about it?

I have played the game and I would tell you about it if you weren't such an annoying prick.

This game sure looks like fun to play. Too bad I don't own a Wii.

This is going to be a long 3 weeks. Me and my friends have been playing Melee nearly every time we've hung out for the last 3 weeks in anticipation. We're going to OD on Brawl when it comes out.

I am looking forward to this game. I loved the first two games, so I will probably have fun with this one as well.

Rated T? As usual, ESRB pussied down.

And just when I thought they became more reasonable for giving Fire Emblem: RD (which is more violent than SSBB, I'm sure) a rating of E10+ instead of a T.

      Final Blade Feb 17, 08
You gotta remember ESRB are never consistent with there game ratings. If you have DMC and Heavenly Sword check the ratings and its completely identical yet Heavenly Sword is rated T for teen and DMC is rated M. Check my store policies thread in the GTA social Forum and it sums up how stores and ESRB aren't consistent in there ratings or policies.

I agree with you, brawl should be rated E and not T.

        Storm Feb 17, 08
They may have the same assests, but DMC is more 'hardcore' with those assests, darker, grimmy environment and all.

As for Brawl's rating...I don't really understand it myself, maybe after getting the game.

So, i thought the assets is a direct representation of the ratings. For instance this tell me what this sounds like to you?
quote Grand Theft Auto San Andreas

          • Blood and Gore
          • Intense Violence
          • Strong Language
          • Strong Sexual Content
          • Use of Drugs

Now tell me Do you think that game deserved M, considering those assets are really adult material?

Thats my point of not being consistent, if your going to list Assets make sure it represents the rating.
Like i said before DMC is no different to Heavenly Sword imo. And shouldn't be given assets if it doesn't relate to the rating in general.

And to futher add to my point this is what characterizes the ratings T and M:

        quote
        MATURE
Titles rated M (Mature) have content that may be suitable for persons ages 17 and older. Titles in this category may contain intense violence, blood and gore, sexual content and/or strong language.
        quote
        TEEN
Titles rated T (Teen) have content that may be suitable for ages 13 and older. Titles in this category may contain violence, suggestive themes, crude humor, minimal blood, simulated gambling, and/or infrequent use of strong language.
Which T sounds exactly like the assets of DMC am i right? Check the boxes your self if you have Heavenly Sword and you will see DMC isn't an M rated game. It makes sense, and i got the ratings off the official ESRB ratings.

    Dio Feb 18, 08
No, it shouldn't be rated E. It should be rated E10+ at the least.

    Mario_1 Feb 25, 08
I was implying that SSBB should be rated E10+. Not just "E".

    Moonrise Feb 18, 08
Not exactly sure where you're going with the GTA reference, but it was definitely rated M/AO for good reason.

DMC gets the extra bump in the ratings because there really is quite a bit of simulated blood, etc. associated with the series and the usage of demons, etc. is considered more "adult" than what's the case in Heavenly Sword.

I definitely wouldn't call Brawl a T rated game from the gameplay I've had, unless there's some hidden KO's that are a bit more violent or some unlockable blood effects.

Finalblade98, you were just complaing a week ago that you thought this game didn't look like any fun and that you would probably only use three characters, if even. Make up your *bleep*ing mind.
    • -1
      Final Blade Feb 18, 08
Correction i was going by what article has said, and just cause i would use those 3 doesn't mean i wouldn't call it fun. Hell i only used 3 or 4 players in Melee and had fun with it, so i don't see your point.

My other point was not everyone will think this game is a disappointed like Moonrise.
  • -2
    Moonrise Feb 18, 08
You made no such point. I said it's a disappointment because it's way too similar to Melee and not similar enough to the original. People that preferred Melee more are obviously going to like it more as a result.

In essence, it is SSB: Melee Ver. B.

Oh, and have fun trying without some gamecube controllers on hand.

If you ignore the Subspace Emmisary, online, the final smashes, assits trophies, masterpieces, stage builder, cooperation offline and online (target smash, subspace, homerun contest, event matches), the new gameplay pace and three other controller choices.

Then yes, it's the same shit as before.

I must disagree with what you just called Melee ConkerASkyJockey06.

Oh no, I wasn't saying Melee was shit. I was using a matter of speech.
  • -2
    Moonrise Feb 18, 08
Final Smashes aren't anything to write home about, most of the co-op stuff is, to put it bluntly, something that should have been done in Melee, online is simply a necessity in moving into next gen, assist trophies are lame, gameplay pace is essentially the same, and the controller choices all totally suck (hence my point about the GCN controllers).

Yes, yes - your totally right, if only the it was in 1080p.

You guys are like crystal balls; agendas are totally clear.

      ConkerASkyJockey Feb 20, 08
You're opinion = Nobody cares about it. It's different from Melee, deal with it.

Halo was always the same shooter since Halo 1, with a few differences in them. Do you see people complain? No. They are the same franchise, you expect a totally new gameplay? That's a bad idea, because most franchises are ruined by the new gameplay (Like, Final Fantasy to a shooter instead of a RPG).

        Moonrise Feb 20, 08
That's partially true, and it's a big reason that Halo 3 was considered Halo 2.5. In a sense, that just reinforces my point more than anything. Sure, it sold great and everyone loves it, but that doesn't change the fact that a majority of them realize it wasn't really worth the praise it got.

        ali3n Feb 21, 08
How exactly is it different from melee? Don't give me a list with the new extras that have been added, because they are just extras. Essentially it is just a spruced up melee.

    Moonrise Feb 20, 08
You serious? 1080p doesn't mean anything when the graphics themselves aren't anything to be impressed about. I could make original mario run in 1080p but that doesn't make the graphics groundbreaking, does it?

Saw it already, still awesome, but Pokemon Trainers voice is meh.

    xegaldis Feb 22, 08
I'm not really looking forward to it anymore. I'll get to play the game in a week and I'm not in the slightest bit excited. I've heard feedback from pro's saying it's not better than Melee, but it's refreshing. Sure, it's worth the buy, but it's not anything to 'get a boner over' as Moonrise put it.

    Mario_1 Feb 25, 08
There is no way for me that I'm not gonna end up loving this game, much less not end up being satisfied with it. I'm too big an SSB fan for that.

Oh, and whoever kept giving me thumbs down in that other article is an immature jerk.
