Now we know that it is to be released on the 15th of April, however apart from a few of the screens, we don't know much about how it will function... well fortunately the official Playstation 3 Blog, have brought us that information, in the form of a video walkthrough.
Unfortunately we can't embed the video here, so you'll have to go to the source and view it, but believe me, it's well worth it ;)
Hey Everyone! We know youre all patiently waiting for the next PS3 firmware update, ver. 2.30, which includes the revamped PLAYSTATION Store. The good news is that its coming soon, and you can now see how the new user interface will look in this video demo featuring Grace Chen.

I also love the fact that purchased items aren't removed, they simply have an icon to tell you that it's been bought already
Was I the only one that expected a new page to just load all slow and stuff when she clicked on the GT5P image? Instead we're treated to a slick fading animation and extremely fast loading. Geez this even puts the XBLM to shame. No previewing trailers before you download them on XBLM (at least not the last time I used a 360 anyways), this is why competition rocks! I'm sure XBLM will get a preview trailer feature soon. This is going to rock.
Thank god too. Everything about the PS3 has been very slick and stylized up to this point EXCEPT the PSStore.
I doubt the store will load quite that fast though, since most likely there would be 1000s of thousands of people online at once, at least, at any time. During peak usage (thursday updates) it would be much more.
But I wouldn't be surprised if it was faster than it is currently.
Store itself is certainly an improvement
I noticed she has a faint but weird accent. It sounds more like she used to be a stutterer then and accent..
