Researcher and Wii Remote hacker, Johnny Lee; popularized by his video demonstrations he posted on YouTube. Is the latest presentor on TED Talks. What is TED Talks? TED, or Technology, Entertainment Design, started in 1984 as a conference which brought people together from those three industries. These industry specialists then give talks on a certain topic pertaining to their category of specialization.

Johnny Lee is most famously known for his Wii Remote hack as seen in his video 'Head Tracking for Desktop VR Displays using the WiiRemote'. In the TED Talk he gives a demonstration of the device in two examples all while trying to promote an easier distrobution or collaboration on research materials (he mentions YouTube for instance). His demonstration was received as Ingenious and Jaw-dropping to the TED Talk audience. It's great to see innovations for only $40 which not only provides gamers amusement but can yield a cheap alternative to teaching aids.

Was about to approve it, but I got sucked into the presentation, heh. It's good to see Johnny Lee getting rewarded for his experimenting. Head-tracking and that software 'touchscreen' abilitiy...wow. That will definitely be part of the gaming industry's future.

He seemed a bit nervous from his movements, but the presentation did well. ^^

It was interesting to hear that EA's already going to be supporting this as an "easter egg" in an upcoming game.

Yeah, sometime in May presumably. I'm interested to know how this will play out. EA's gaining back some respect this way.

Yea, it was supposedly to be in Boom Blox but they've removed it from the final version of the game. You know that's so lame, I don't even know why they told people it'd be in the game, it's an easter egg! >_<
      1) tell people about the easter egg
      2) promote it at events like GDC and Ted Talks
      3) let everyone know you pulled it from your game when you shouldn't have announced it in the first place
      3) ???
      5) profit

      GG EA, G-O-O-D G-A-M-E...lame.
