Looks stunning, have always been a fan of the Siren series or Forbidden Siren for Europeans, this game should be incredible, this year seems the year for horror.

    - Resident Evil 5
    - Alone In The Dark 5
    - Silent Hill 5
    - Siren: New Translation

    All in one year!!!

Wow, about a quarter of the way into the video there's a dude walking towards the screen with a flashlight down a hallway and it honestly looks nothing short of absolutely real. I actually thought, "what the *bleep* is this live action shit in this video" when that came up. Then I rewound it and realized it was in-game. I'm sure it's due to the low lighting but still, the lighting was amazing and the animation of the dude was absolutely perfect.

Siren has always reminded me of those Japanese horror films that get remade internationally like The Ring, Shutter, The Grudge, etc. This remake should be really good.

I don't see whats so great about it to be honest.

The ring, the grudge and shutter all sucked, they weren't scary at all, especially Grudge and the Ring. The sequels of those two was even worse. I can't see how anyone would like those movies and be scared from them. And yes i have watched them all, only to be disappointed by it.

You obviously have not watched any of the original versions. The original version of Shutter was no doubt one of the greatest horror movies I've ever seen.

So what do you like? Freddy Kreuger?

Not really, the most i've seen that i actually thought was good was Silent of the lambs, Hannibal Lechter. Recently i come to liking the Saw series, even though they aren't really scary movies.

There just haven't been scary videos like the ones i listed that was even good. They were crap imo. It seems to be the same type of thing that has that scary in them, Ring and Grudge had that ghostly sick looking girl thing. Shutter i just didn't think was that great, better than those two any day.

Oh now that i think about it, the Original Shinning with Jack Nicholson was pretty scary, and One flew over the cuckoo nest was pretty *bleep*ed up. But those are pretty much it for me.

@Raziel you could be right about the original Shutter, i was watched the recent one.

I have seen other scary movies but i just don't remember them, but it must have not been good if i don't remember them.

Japanese Horror beats Western Horror, it is fact those Japanese are some *bleep*ed up people, they will do anything to get a scare. If you have only seen The Ring or The Grudge and i mean the western remakes you have no feet to stand on, this is J-Horror it is made by Sony Japan... This will be like Ringu or the Ju0on series which features the likes of The Curse and The Grudge. The J-Horror versions are sick and twisted and at times scary, the Western versions are well shit as you said... This is a J-Horror game Sony Japan have always tried their best to keep it Japanese if they keep it Japanese it will be one of the scariest games ever made, just like Siren 1 and 2.

Well if your saying the ones i saw, which was western version, wasn't the real versions, than perhaps your right. The only ones im going by was the versions i saw, but it just didn't say scary, Resident Evil is probably the only other movie i liked alot, whether ours was scary or not, it doesn't matter for me.

Its just it seems those types of movies has the same scrary moments, its like watching a new movie, only to be disappointed cause it looks like the other ones.

Oh how could i forget Silent Hill movie, that was good, wasn't scary for me but good though.

Perhaps im just immune to be scared by movies.

Hold on a second, I recognize a lot of these scenes. Like the dude waking up witha bullet wound to his chest, that's supposed to be the main character, Kyoya Suda. The rifleman in the tower is supposed to be Akira Shimura (who's an old guy)...but I guess they're turning the former Japanese characters into some other region characters, I remember the characters having a British accent in the original game, I didn't hear any British accent here.

Either way, they obviously didn't waste their time, if PS2 graphics gave me some good late-nite scares then this oughta blow me away; hopefully. I'm STILL waiting on Siren 2 though, godamnit...

        Seeker X Apr 19, 08
Uh yeah. I figured they would've stuck to the original characters. Also I did say "Original game" and not "First game" and how I pointed out each character's names that were from the original game, etc etc.

It's actually not, according to many that can read Japanese its all based around an American film crew that have gone to the island, hense the strong American accent on the main guy the game followed.

Looks pretty awesome, if I may say so. I've been looking for a good horror game, seeing as Condemned 2 for me wasn't enough.

Wish they'd've shown a bit more in the trailer, though.
